Souvenir Design: Interwoven in Qatar, Celebrating Diversity
This project explores Qatar’s social fabric; a vibrant tapestry of global cultures and shared traditions. The design process was deeply iterative, moving through extensive prototyping to refine a final form that honors both heritage and modern craft. The resulting souvenir is a physical manifestation of this ‘interwoven’ spirit. Its production reflects its concept: a collaborative chain of creation involving multiple artisans in Souq Waqif, each bringing techniques from their unique origins. By merging palm, camel leather, and wool, the final object translates traditional Qatari materials into a novel, sculptural and interchangeable design that celebrates the diverse community fostering Qatar’s collective culture.
